Antibiotics for Open Fractures

Local Antibiotics for Patients Undergoing Surgery for Open Fractures
We conducted an evidence synthesis to identify and summarise current research on the clinical and cost-effectiveness of local antibiotic use in patients undergoing surgery for open fractures. This synthesis highlighted both existing and forthcoming evidence likely to emerge in the near future, thereby supporting the prioritisation and planning of future research efforts.

Suspected Sepsis

Clinical Utility of Biomarkers for Outcomes Prediction in Adults with Suspected Sepsis Presenting to the Emergency Department
We undertook a comprehensive evidence synthesis of existing studies to assess whether biomarkers can predict clinical outcomes in adults presenting at the emergency department with suspected sepsis.

Breast imaging

Risk-adapted breast imaging in population breast cancer screening programmes
We conducted a suite of systematic reviews to assess the screening performance and costs of supplemental imaging modalities for women with breast density at risk of breast cancer.

Wound dressing

Duration of Wound Coverage for the Prevention of Surgical Site Infections After Surgery
We conducted an evidence synthesis to identify and describe the current research on optimal dressing duration for surgical wounds to prevent surgical site infections. This synthesis considered whether the duration varies based on the type of dressing, wound characteristics, or surgical procedure.

Citation screening

Comparing two methods of citation screening (SWAR 1)
We tried to evaluate the effects of two different methods of screening citations for inclusion of articles in a systematic review: sequential screening of titles followed by abstracts of potentially eligible articles and simultaneous screening of titles and abstracts however due to limited time and resources we were unable to complete this SWAR.

Systematic Review task

Measuring time taken for various systematic review tasks (SWAR 6)
We tried to track the time required to complete key tasks involved in conducting a systematic review, including screening of search results, data extraction, risk of bias assessment, and time spent in project meetings and discussions however due to limited time and resources we were unable to complete this SWAR.
